International Cooperation Center

International Cooperation Center

Geneva stands out as one of the main international cities in the country and the world. The creation of an International Cooperation Center (ICC) in the region aligns perfectly with governmental proposals and strategies. This new space will enhance intellectual exchange in various fields, while hosting high-level discussions and negotiations. It will establish a platform capable of bringing together networks of agents and entities to express, test, and disseminate innovative strategic ideas, reinforcing international attention on the city and its role as a global host.

However, by attracting more attention to Geneva, the number of visitors and foreign residents will increase, which will further exacerbate the current shortage of housing and temporary accommodation. This will make it difficult for various employees from disadvantaged countries to stay. To address this situation, it is understood that the ICC building should include housing associated with work spaces, service areas, tourism facilities, and semi-public areas.

The ICC will encompass spaces with a great diversity of uses. Its volumetry will be verticalized, maintaining integration with the urban fabric, permeability, and becoming a vertical extension of the public promenade. The internal spaces will mark the facade and dialogue with the various heights of the city:

28 meters: helical staircase visible on the facade, corresponding to the height of buildings in the historic center.

70 meters: large auditorium and bar, aligned with the height of the Carouge towers.

138 meters: restaurant, equivalent to the height of Geneva's Jet d'eau, symbol of the city.

172 meters: maximum allowed height, creating a new urban landmark.

Distributed over 40 floors, the ICC will offer a unique combination of public, semi-public, and private spaces. This variety of uses - from auditoriums and conference rooms to residential areas and offices - will create a dynamic ecosystem that fosters collaboration, exchange of ideas, and innovation. The inclusion of elements such as an observation deck and exhibition areas will ensure that the building is an attractive destination for visitors, consolidating Geneva's role as a host city.

In summary, the International Cooperation Center will position itself as a new architectural symbol and catalyst for global dialogue, international cooperation, and sustainable development, reaffirming Geneva's status as a world hub for diplomatic excellence and innovation.
